heatherclassen > Hmmm, where should I go first? I want to eat crepes, visit the Chateau Frontenac, see the boat race on the St Lawrence River, and see the lower town too.
heatherclassen > This is the wall to the old town of Quebec City.
heatherclassen > Bonhomme welcomed me to the Quebec Winter Carnival.

heatherclassen > And this is Quebec's Parliament building, pretty huh? A lot of the architecture in this city looks straight from Paris, since the city was built by French people starting in the 1600s.

Well, this was a fun trip, I think I'm off to the US South next, it's too cold up here!
Bon Voyage!
heatherclassen > On the right, that's the Winter Carnival, with skijoring, tubing, slides, music, snow sculptures, and dog sledding. It is all on the Plains of Abraham, where the English fought the French in 1759 and won, putting Canada under British rule. Many people in Quebec still want to separate from the English part of Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Plains_of_Abraham
heatherclassen > I'm way up high in the observatory now. You can see the St Lawrence River and the Chateau Frontenac. The Citadel is on the right, that's what the English built to protect Quebec City from the newly formed United States. They never had any trouble tho. In the summer months you can see the "changing of the guard" there.
heatherclassen > toboggoning, too fast for me.
